The Praesten is a classic inline spoon from Denmark. It is available in 4 different models. Generally, in Denmark, it is fished with a treble hook. Here in Germany, it must be fished with a single hook at most pond facilities. Nevertheless, it is a very effective lure in the trout sector and should not be missing from any well-stocked tackle box.
The Micro
The Micro weighs only 1.8g and, with a length of approx. 2cm, is the smallest member of the family. Yet, it should not be underestimated. It can be perfectly used solo on an UL rod. If you don't feel like molding trout dough, you can also use it excellently behind a bombarda. It doesn't matter whether the bombarda is floating or sinking. Only the rig would need to be adjusted. Thus, the Micro is ready for close-range fishing, but also when it comes to distance and depth.
Due to its size, the Micro is the perfect lure to entice trout even in summer when they prefer smaller food selectively.
The Mini
The Mini is the slightly larger brother of the Micro. It weighs 3.5g and has a length of approx. 4cm. It should mainly be fished solo. Due to its rather low weight, shy trout are not as suspicious when it hits the water. The Mini benefits from this characteristic. The Mini is also excellently suited for summer fishing. However, to get the best possible retrieve from the Mini, this lure must be retrieved in slow-mo (i.e., very slowly). If you master the technique, you will never come up empty-handed with this lure.
The UL
The UL with its 4.5g and 5cm length is the secret all-rounder in Denmark. This should only be fished solo. When the fish are active, there's no stopping this lure. Like its brothers, it can be fished very shallow but also deep.
The Classic
Let's move on to the "giant" in the family. All kidding aside, the Classic, with its 7g and 5cm length, is the largest representative in the Praesten family. It is exclusively suitable for solo rigging. Despite its size and weight, it is in no way inferior to its brothers. On the contrary, precisely because of its size and weight, it is an absolute long-casting machine (sidewind excluded). However, you can easily use it in water depths from 20cm up to several meters. Here, too, the technique is crucial to be able to use the full spectrum of the Classic.

Choosing the Right Equipment
4 simple steps to the right choice!
Perfectly identifying the target fish
Consider what types of fish you want to catch (e.g., trout, bass, pike-perch, sea trout, ...).
Choosing a Fishing Rod and Reel
Choose length and strength appropriate to the target fish and fishing method (e.g. UL rod for spoons (active fishing), bottom rod for stationary fishing (passive fishing)).
Adjust Fishing Line and Lure
Use fine braided lines for UL applications or monofilament lines for all-around use. Make sure to use the right lures for the target fish.
Properly add accessories
Think of a suitable landing net, helpful tools (e.g. knife, fish persuader, hook remover,...), clear bait boxes and a functional tackle box to be optimally prepared.
