The Smith - Neo Mag Hook Keeper is a new type of hook holder for fishing rods that works with magnetic force. With this small accessory, you can quickly and securely attach the fishing hook to the rod and release it just as quickly, without getting tangled or knotting the fishing line.

Magnetic holder allows for quick attachment and release of the hook on the spinning rod.

Suitable for rods with a diameter of approx. 5–13 mm and for hooks up to approx. 30 g in weight.

Installation is simple with a rubber ring at the desired position on the rod.

The product was developed by Hitoshi Hiramoto as a solution for the annoying securing of hooks to guide eyes or classic hook holders, where the line can easily get tangled.

Perfectly identifying the target fish
Consider what types of fish you want to catch (e.g., trout, bass, pike-perch, sea trout, ...).
Choosing a Fishing Rod and Reel
Choose length and strength appropriate to the target fish and fishing method (e.g. UL rod for spoons (active fishing), bottom rod for stationary fishing (passive fishing)).
Adjust Fishing Line and Lure
Use fine braided lines for UL applications or monofilament lines for all-around use. Make sure to use the right lures for the target fish.
Properly add accessories
Think of a suitable landing net, helpful tools (e.g. knife, fish persuader, hook remover,...), clear bait boxes and a functional tackle box to be optimally prepared.
