Berkley Forward - The Fused Line for Extra Long and Accurate Casts (The successor to the legendary Berkley Nanofil)
The Berkley Forward is a fused line, which is counted among braided lines but is not, strictly speaking, one. While classic braided lines consist of many fine threads that are braided together, these threads are thermally fused/melted together in fused lines. However, the Berkley Forward not only utilizes this Berkley-exclusive construction but also has an additional coating that makes it smoother. This combination and other special properties make this line perfect for extra long and accurate casts with small and light lures.
A Higher Sink Rate
The Berkley Forward is perfectly suited for UL fishing, as its predecessor, the legendary Berkley Nanofil, has already proven. In UL fishing, it is important to accurately cast relatively small and light lures over long distances. The Berkley Forward supports this with its properties. But beyond that, it also offers a higher sink rate than conventional braided lines, meaning the lure reaches the fish faster. This sink rate is due, among other things, to its very thin diameter and the fact that the line's coating lasts particularly long and it does not absorb water. This keeps it round and thin for a very long time, which keeps water resistance low.
Highest Sensitivity
Because the Berkley Forward is a fused line, the individual, fine threads lie next to each other instead of being braided crosswise. This small but significant difference makes the contact from the angler to the lure even more direct, making even the slightest bite more noticeable. The higher sink rate also contributes to the increased sensitivity. Due to the lower water resistance, a smaller line belly forms in the water, and contact becomes even more direct.

Thanks to its properties, the Berkley Forward is not only suitable for UL fishing.
